Don’t you just hate to write a bio? I know I do. Let’s see…what would interest the readers out there?
I’ve been writing since I was 8 years old. I wrote my first play for my third grade class that was put on for Christmas. Of course, my sister got married the night it was put on–so I didn’t even get to see it performed! I don’t think I’ve ever forgiven my sister for that one.
I have one child–well, she’s not so much a child anymore. She’s also a writer. I guess the bug runs in the family. She writes under a couple of pen names. Of course, she writes YA, not steamy adult romance. (I don’t think I’d want to read steamy romance written by my daughter anyway.)
My dream has always been to write for Silhouette. Of course, I haven’t sent them a book to review for almost 20 years–so it’s not going to happen today or tomorrow!
I love reading a multitude of authors:
- Sharon Sala (Wonderful lady and a great author!)
- Linda Howard
- Jayne Ann Krentz
- Johanna Lindsey
- Catherine Coulter
- Kay Hooper
- Iris Johansen
- JD Robb/Nora Roberts
- JK Rowling
- James Patterson
Those are just a few of my all-time favorites. I’ve read everything written by the above authors. There are many others I enjoy as well, but those listed above are probably the ones that inspired me to write. I’ve met most of them in person, and they are just wonderful to their fans, especially Sharon and Iris. You couldn’t ask for two nicer women.
In the past, I’ve worked in various fields. I was a police officer years ago, an EMT, and a high school English teacher, and a freelance writer.
My various job experiences are often incorporated in my writing.
Here’s a link to a Blog Talk Radio interview I did a while back. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/book-junkies-interview-livecast/2012/07/01/romance-with-hope Let me know what you think. I talk about books, reading, inspiring authors and more. Check it out.
